September 6th YAPPY HOUR!, hosted by Fetch! Mid City, located at 3536 Toulouse St., from 5:30-7:30. Wine samples courtesy of Swirl, samples of doggy goodies compliments of Fetch! and $10 dog washes courtesy of the LA/SPCA volunteers. Also, meet a few adoptable dogs from the LA/SPCA! September 10th Feral Cat TNR…The Basics and Beyond Workshop, sponsored by the LA/SPCA will be held at 1700 Mardi Gras Blvd., from 10:00am-Noon. A FREE humane education course for people with neighborhood cats. Learn the importance of Trap-Neuter-Return and find out about basic methods and equipment. Network and find area resources for low-cost spay/neuter, trap rental or purchase. Discover ways to advocate for neighborhood cats and gain support for TNR in the community. September 10th An Adoption Option, sponsored by the LA/SPCA will be held at Neighborhood Pet Market, located at 231 N. Carrollton Ave., from 12:00-2:00. LA/SPCA adoption counselors and volunteers will be on hand to help you select the right pet for your family. September 15th Pasta With a Purpose at Semolina to benefit the LA/SPCA will be held at Semolina located at 4436 Veterans Blvd. (near the Palace Theatre), from 5:00-9:00. The Louisiana SPCA has invited you to join them for dinner, which will help raise money for the organization, when you come and dine-in (or carryout), Semolina will donate 10% of the proceeds from your visit to the Louisiana SPCA. September 17th An Adoption Option, sponsored by the LA/SPCA will be held at Mid City Vet Hospital, located at 3821 Orleans Ave., from 11:30-3:00. LA/SPCA adoption counselors and volunteers will be on hand to help you select the right pet for your family. September 17th A “Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day” event to benefit the LA/SPCA will be held at Igor’s Buddha Belly, located at 4437 Magazine St. from 7:30pm-‘til. Expect a 50/50 raffle, prize raffle, Irish Folk music, karaoke, a few tunes from the Rotten Cores, costume contest and a double elimination, slop tourney, pool tournament ($10 tournament fee). Tournament winner will receive ½ of all entrance fees and a $25 bar tab to be used on 9/17. Second place winner will receive a $10 bar tab to used on 9/17. For only a $10 donation to the shelter, get your pup primped with a day of beauty. Also, giveaways and other pet-related vendors on-site to answer your questions.
