November 5th Feral Cat TNR…The Basics and Beyond Workshop, sponsored by the LA/SPCA will be held at 1700 Mardi Gras Blvd., from 10:00am-Noon. A FREE humane education course for people with neighborhood cats. Learn the importance of Trap-Neuter-Return and find out about basic methods and equipment. Network and find area resources for low-cost spay/neuter, trap rental or purchase. Discover ways to advocate for neighborhood cats and gain support for TNR in the community. November 5th Howling Success, “A Motown Tribute” The LA/SPCA annual Patron Party & Gala will be THE event to attend this fall as the premiere soiree at the NEW Hyatt Regency’s Empire Ballroom and Chef John Besh as our Celebrity Restaurant Chair. Be the first to get a taste from Chef Besh’s new restaurant, Borgne, opening at the Hyatt later this year. Howling Success features entertainment from Wanda Rouzan from HBO’s Treme with A Taste of New Orleans Band for our Patron Party and The Big Easy Groovers will have you dancing to your Motown favorites for the Gala! Howling Success will feature food from over 30 New Orleans restaurants to delight every taste and full-service bars with specialty drinks from Twist Cocktails and 12 Bar on Fulton for Patrons. The Patron Party begins at 7pm and the Gala begins at 8:30pm. November 11th This unique date has inspired the Louisiana SPCA to celebrate in a special sort of way. In honor of 11/11/11, the Louisiana SPCA will offer pet adoptions for only $11! The adoption fee includes vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies vaccination and Orleans Parish license, and a bag of pet food (an over $400 value). And for any adopters walking in the door between 11am and 12pm the adoption fee will be waived. Also expect giveaways, special activities and MORE! November 12th An Adoption Option, sponsored by the LA/SPCA will be held at Pinkberry, located at 5601 Magazine St., from 12:00-4:00. LA/SPCA adoption counselors and volunteers will be on hand to help you select the right pet for your family.
