Ashton Ryan is the founder, CEO and board chairman of First NBC Bank, a new community bank that seeks to meet the diverse banking needs of New Orleans. First NBC, which received its banking charter in 2006, will have a strong focus on redevelopment of city housing through community-based organizations. The bank’s board of directors is composed of representatives from different segments of the New Orleans population, including faith-based groups, labor unions, small business executives and government officials.
