Louisiana Economic Development and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette will host the Gulf Coast national conference and trade show, Secure the Coast – Protect the Nation.
This inaugural conference of the university’s homeland security and disaster management institute, National Incident Management Systems and Advanced Technologies (NIMSAT), plans to address the Gulf Coast’s critical assets and infrastructures that impact our nation’s economy.
The conference has assembled over 60 key stakeholders representing major industry and top government officials to speak about Louisiana’s energy, petrochemical and maritime industry infrastructures and supply chains that are critical to the economy’s success, yet vulnerable to natural and technological hazards.
Keynote speakers include U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, Disaster Recovery – Senate Subcommittee chair, and James Lee Witt, chief executive officer of James Lee Witt Associates, a unit of GlobalOptions Group.
