What is mobile tagging?
Mobile tagging means the process of scanning, decoding and reading out the content of a 2-dimensional barcode by using a camera of a mobile device. Various types of information can be saved in the code. Just one click with your camera and your handy browser links you to the requested website.
Do I need to buy special equipment?
No! Anyone walking by your place of business with a smartphone can scan the QR (quick response) code in your window and start the conversation.
Does my business need to have a website?
No! All you need to take advantage of this technology is access to a computer and the internet to post periodic updates to the consumers who have tagged you. (And besides, every Stay Local-listed business has a web presence on staylocal.org whether they have a website or not.)
Do I need to have a store front? I sell at festivals and markets only.
No! In fact, this is ideal for you. With a QR code set up on your table, anyone walking past your booth can snap an image and you will be able to continue the dialogue with them, letting them know where they can find you next and about new products you bring online.
Sounds like a no-brainer! How do I sign up?
Contact keely@staylocal.org to receive your code and free QRSYNQ account.
Hey, wait a minute! My business isn’t listed on Staylocal.org yet. How do I register?
Easy! Go to www.staylocal.org/add and fill in the blanks. We’ll contact you within a couple days to verify your eligibility and publish your listing.
