HB 1114 is being introduced in the Louisiana Legislature in the 2012 session. Passage will effectively shore up the crumbling sales tax revenue base of Louisiana’s municipalities by closing the tax loophole enjoyed by online mega-retailers like Amazon, which are not required to collect sales tax, at the expense of brick and mortar businesses that are.
