“Your Opinions,” May 19, 2007

Marketing Manager Alan Richardson says that Starbucks was unaware of who else had applied to lease the available retail space on Jackson Square.

Now that Starbucks is aware of Chef Scott Boswell’s application to lease that same site, perhaps the company could be persuaded to consider withdrawing Starbucks’ application to lease the space.

As Mr. Richardson states, Starbucks is committed to supporting “the rebuilding and revitalization of the remarkable cultural treasure that is New Orleans.”

One of the best ways Starbucks can fulfill its mission is to support independent, locally based businesses that bring maximum benefit to the local economy.
