Call for Businesses to Participate in Shop Local Holiday Bingo!
This year’s holiday campaign calls on consumers to play and win Shop Local Bingo! The contest is designed to increase local support of New Orleans' existing small businesses and commercial corridors.
Bingo! cards will be handed out to customers by participating businesses, thanks to support from Blue Cross Blue Shield and other local businesses. We’ll encourage customers to compete to win prizes based on the variety of business types and business locations, all locally owned, that they visit in November and December.
We share the importance of shopping at locally owned businesses all year through our non profit’s messaging. You can read about some of our past work at staylocal.org/press.
When consumers choose local over big boxes and chains, the money spent circulates in the local economy, providing a second and third opportunity for local benefit --when compared to spending the same dollars at national chains headquartered elsewhere.
We’ll release our list of participating Bingo! businesses on November 15. Visit our website to learn the good things StayLocal membership brings, or reach out to Maryann Miller at 504-252-1259 or here. StayLocal will begin including any new, local member business’ name in our Shop Local Bingo! marketing in time for this year’s campaign.
Open for Business During Construction
Great news! The City of New Orleans secured billions of dollars for infrastructure improvements along business corridors. As a community, we understand the long-term benefit that these improvements have for residents and businesses.
StayLocal has partnered with the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development, RoadWork and Dept. of Public Works to provide support to businesses for any short-term impact businesses may experience while roads are improved.
